"0": "Compiled from notes by: Tarrik Lyonald of Candlekeep\n\nThe tome tells of ancient times when the elves build the fortress inside the cave of the mountain. In the valley surrounded by the mountain they built a library that was to last forever. The fortress built in to the caves was meant to be a protection wall against any outside threat. Of the great hopes the elves had for the place, the writer tells this. It was planned that other races, like the silver and gold dragons could be taught at young age to be guardians of this sacred place. It even mentions few elves, like the great hero Aefearen, leaving the fortress to seek suitable dragons. However this experiment was not continued due the troubled times that brought much grief to the fortress. \n\nThis part of the tome tells of the uncertain times that followed the destruction of Myth Drannor. It tells how the forest got more dangerous and mentions something about an ancient enemy by the name of Acararnak, a mad elf driven by the lust for power. The tome tells that the enemy was defeated and his soul and body were entombed in to the other elven fortress nearby. However, before the tome ends, there is mention of new trouble arriving.\n\nThis part of the tome tells of a rift between dimensions opening, and giant insects crawling from it into the mountains. The tome speculates that the destruction at Myth Drannor could have possibly triggered it, however there seems to be no certainty over the issue. The antmen were intelligent enough to communicate with the elves, but they made it clear that the mountain was now their home. This note is followed by a long description of the war against the gigantic ant invaders, however ultimately the elves had to give in as they get no help from the other elves of Cormanthor. No help was available because the times were difficult as they were. The remaining elves buried their greatest heroes who had fallen in the battles against the enemy, and left to the Evermeet singing sorrow songs of their defeat. This tome was left as record of their sad tale.\n"
